4 August 2022New Balance and Bryant Giles partner for two experimental takes on the 2002R.
Bryant Giles is renowned for his intricate approach to artwork, utilising meticulous techniques as a tool for touching upon socially conscious and autobiographical themes.
With his collaboration with New Balance, the Chicago-born artist showcases the detail-heavy approach at the core of his creative output. The partnership has resulted in two reworks of the 2002R — one in olive green, the other in an off-white mule form — which take inspiration from Giles’ very own customised pair of 992s.
Embroidered original artwork features detailed throughout both, which are taken from the hand-drawn alterations made to the artist’s original pair of custom 992s. There’s removable branding on the sidewalls, too, to complete the playful aesthetic.
