Rooted in bygone eras, Stepney Workers Club takes its name from the original Workers Sports Club in the early 20th century — an anti-fascist sports group in the East End of London. The inclusive culture of the club and the involvement in making local sports accessible to everyone resonated with co-founders Roger Pereira and Simon, going on to be the spark that lit the fire. 

That playful handshake logo you’ll have seen? This takes a nod to the OG club’s free-thinking notion and is just like the hand-made graphics and anti-war banners you’d see in the ‘20s and ‘30s. The London label continues to spread the ‘Freedom of Sport, Freedom of Thought’ mantra throughout its retro-style sneakers, proving that no sport is too obscure for these sneakers. Walk in them, skate in them, or pedal away in them. They’re endlessly versatile.
