NANGA

NANGA’s story starts far from the summit — in 1941, inside a small sewing workshop in Maibara, where the Yokota family stitched sofas and crafted cotton futon bedding with meticulous care. For decades, that was the rhythm: needles, thread, precision. Then came Japan’s 1980s outdoor boom, and the family made a bold pivot. Their sewing expertise moved from living rooms to the mountains, evolving into sleeping bags built for cold nights and ambitious climbs.

The brand later adopted the name NANGA, inspired by Nanga Parbat, marking its shift into purpose‑built outdoor gear. By 2003, the Aurora Down Jacket arrived — a milestone that helped cement the reputation of men’s NANGA for featherlight warmth and technical reliability.

Today, NANGA clothing blends mountaineering heritage with everyday wear — from NANGA jackets to knits and trousers, and the brand’s signature NANGA down jacket — creating gear that moves effortlessly between trail and town.
