Comme des Garçons SHIRT is one of the many offshoots in the CDG universe — the line Rei Kawakubo introduced in 1988 when she began taking work shirts apart and rebuilding them with asymmetry, contrast and unexpected pairings. It was more pared back than the avant‑leaning mainline, though it never fully played by the rules.
Since then, Comme des Garçons SHIRT has evolved into a full menswear lineup: crisp shirts with off‑beat tweaks, graphic or panel‑cut Comme des Garçons t‑shirts, patchwork pieces, sweatshirts and hybrid layers that shift proportions, often created in collaboration with designers. Small disruptions. That’s the balance — and the charm.
