THE KENZO DENIM BOKE FLOWER COLLECTION

With the KENZO Denim Boke Flower Collection, Nigo showcases his longstanding love of premium denim, fusing Japanese craftsmanship with his boke flower graphic created upon his arrival at the fashion house.

KENZO THE DENIM BOKE FLOWER COLLECTION

Nigo has long held a love for denim; after all, the multihyphenate has amassed a vast personal archive comprised of denim and vintage pieces, with his body of work reflecting his deep appreciation for the fabric.

With his third collection as Artistic Director of KENZO, Nigo celebrates his passion for the tried-and-tested material, creating garments constructed using premium Japanese denim. As with his previous collections, Nigo prepares the future of KENZO by honouring the past, combining his own stylistic codes with those of Kenzo Takada: exuberance, colour and playfulness.

Pieces are constructed using premium Japanese denim in authentic shades of blue, as well as intricately detailed to reflect Nigo’s meticulous approach to craft. Each garment is embroidered with the boke flower logo — that debuted with Nigo’s inaugural KENZO capsule — to reference the Japanese sensibility of flora and fauna as signifiers of symbols and feelings. The collection is made up of classic, workwear-inspired pieces — to reference Nigo’s love of all things Americana — as well as oversized tees for a relaxed take on wardrobe staples.
