Playfully cast in a kaleidoscope of colours, Teddy Santis’ Aimé Leon Dore reinvent New Balance’s 827 sneaker with their contemporary streetwear zeal.
Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance continue their critically and commercially lauded collaborative partnership this season, taking aim at a fresh silhouette from the NB archive. The New York brand’s creative director, Teddy Santis, has a well known obsession with vintage sportswear, and this time round, Santis ensures that the collaborative offering exhibits this obsession for the world to see.
Adapting the 827 model, a niche NB silhouette, ALD apply a bold and vibrant colour block in their signature irreverent style. The resulting sneaker is a ‘90s performance runner reimagined in a riot of rainbow hues; clean white mesh uppers are overlaid with high contrast panels of buttercup and petrol, along with cornflower, grass green and scarlet accents. Dashes of 3M dance across the layered panels for a high vis finish that marries fashion and functionality beautifully.
