SELECTED BY END. - OUTDOORS

Performance that moves from street to summit.

In the modern world, fashion and outdoor clothing have become inseparably entwined. Gone are the days where you'd only find all-weather gear on the hills and peaks — now, technical fabrications, powerful protection capabilities and functional design are synonymous with contemporary dressing. Whether you're exploring the wilderness or the metropolis, outdoor clothing and accessories have become an integral part of everyday attire.

Presenting a selection of our favourite pieces from END.'s outdoor menswear edit, we've collated the best-in-class from across the gamut of durable clothing, with each and every brand chosen for its authenticity, expertise and position at the apex of technical design.

Renowned for their exceptional outerwear and infamous for their "dead bird" logo, Canadian outdoor brand Arc'teryx continue to build on their pedigree with a classic: the Beta SL Gore-Tex Jacket. Crafted in a stealthy black fabric, the functional jacket is brimming with the zeitgeist-defining charm that led to the brand dominating the "gorpcore" aesthetic in recent years. Pair with trousers and a cap from Manchester's Mellow Clo and the Montana shoe from French footwear specialists Paraboot for a look the blends progressive outdoor aesthetics with a touch of city-centric style.

Italian outdoor brand ROA have impressively built out their product offering since they launched their shoe line back in 2015. Named after the Forcella della Roa mountain pass in the Dolomites, the brand continue their explorations in outerwear with the Smooth Down Jacket in Taupe. Perfectly accompanied by their Nuna 800 Fill Power Hooded Down Vest for supreme warmth, Descente Allterrain's collaborative Skully Hat with Justin Saunders' JJJJound completes a look that blends progressive design that always has one foot firmly in the outdoors and the other in the urban.

Japanese outdoor favourites Montbell continue to remain as desirable as ever, with their Plasma 1000 Down Jacket offering an ideal dose of their no-frills approach to outerwear. Crafted in a cobalt blue 7-denier Ballistic Airlight Nylon Ripstop, this ultra-light and ultra-warm jacket is detailed with skip stitched baffles for a unique look. Montbell accessories and a pair of trusty Salomon XT-6 hiking sneakers finish off the outfit, offering balance and hits of colour that creates a bold yet wearable palette.

Celebrating our Northern England roots, we collaborated with Northumberland-based outdoor brand Montane on the Alta XT Jacket. Crafted from GORE-TEX in a Powder White colour, the durable and waterproof jacket is detailed with pops of lime green to introduce an inflection of our street-ready style without compromising its efficiency as an exceptional outdoor garment. Worn with ROA's Sella Sneaker and Mellow Clo's Boulder Trousers for a low-key look, each piece works together in perfect harmony to present a vision of outdoor clothing that champions technical innovation but retains a streak of stylistic intent.
