New Balance partners with Rich Paul for the first time, reworking the 550 sneaker and celebrating the sports agent’s ties to basketball.
Rich Paul has deep-rooted ties to the world of basketball; Paul founded Klutch Sports Group in 2012, which has since gone on to represent a long list of NBA icons. The sports agent’s debut collaboration with New Balance reflects his links to the sport, with the 550 — a recently revived, court-focused sneaker — brought under the spotlight.
The approach taken is understated, with the shoe’s clean and classic aesthetic brought to the forefront. A shade of timeless off-white covers the majority of the leather uppers, with subtle contrast given through navy, yellow and baby blue accents throughout.
To complete the collaborative look, the tongues are detailed with co-branding, displaying Rich Paul’s name in cursive font above the footwear label’s logo.
