It all began with a vintage bedsheet, a studio apartment, and Nyree Leckenby’s mum’s sewing machine. Fresh out of high school, Nyree stitched her first creation in 2013, and just like that, My Mum Made It was born. The name? Unforgettable. The look? Effortless meets vintage-inspired. Compliments rolled in, a boutique came calling, and interior design studies were swapped for full-time fashion dreams.

One handmade dress turned into dozens, each sparking the same question: “Where’s your dress from?” That curiosity launched a journey from local markets to a Brisbane-based global label adored by it girls. Think nostalgia meets cool girl energy, with a commitment to natural and sustainable fabrics like PIMA cotton, GOTS-certified organic cotton, and hemp along with intricate details like ruffles and crochet.
