Picture this: the lobby of London’s famous Savoy Hotel where in 1897, a young Guccio Gucci worked as a bellboy. According to legend, Guccio Gucci was so inspired by the aristocratic guests’ luxurious luggage, he was inspired to found his eponymous Gucci label back in Florence. In 1921, Gucci began crafting luggage, eventually graduating to the Gucci mens clothing we know and love today.
