In 1995, Nike premiered the Air Max Uptempo, the sneaker giant’s first ever basketball shoe to feature a fully visible Air unit. 1996 saw the creation of the Air More Uptempo which featured the same epic sole with overlays in the shape of the word ‘AIR’. Throwing a 2019 twist at that hyper stylish ’96 court favourite, Nike opts for a supple grained leather upper in pitch black with matching mesh inserts at the tongue, while the enormous A, I and R are finished in the print of the year: camo. The hefty sole is presented in all-black too, while embroidered Swooshes at the toebox and heel panel provide optic white accents.
