Taking inspiration from the ideas of nonconformity, Belgian designer Martin Margiela founded the luxury haute couture house Maison Margiela in 1988. Embracing creativity rooted in authenticity, community, and self-expression, the label focuses on the relationship between clothing and how it’s worn. Now under the creative direction of Glenn Martens, the artisanal atelier challenges tradition by reinterpreting and repurposing past elements into new forms. This process creates a dialogue between past and present, emphasising individuality and authenticity at every stage.

Maison Margiela approaches everyday dressing through a conceptual lens — taking familiar wardrobe pieces and reworking them with unexpected proportions, subtle deconstruction and its signature quiet anonymity.
