On its 20th anniversary, adidas reimagines the Equipment Gazelle, renaming it the EQT Gazelle. Infusing retro style with subtle modern influences, the upper remains largely unchanged from the original, with overlays spanning from midsole to eyelet mirroring the brand’s iconic Three-Stripes. A holographic tab tops the coral mesh upper, flipping between a retro Trefoil and contemporary ‘EQUIPMENT’ branding, with purple hits to the overlay trims and the front of the split midsole. Accurately dispersing heel and forefoot cushioning – a move the adidas runners of the past would surely welcome – a sturdy midfoot plate adds necessary support and bridges the heritage past and the ever-advancing present.
