BARBOUR X MAISON KITSUNÉ: Heritage Meets Playfulness

Barbour and Maison Kitsuné join forces to cast heritage outerwear through a playful lens.

Maison Kitsuné and Barbour join forces for the first time, with a collection that casts the heritage design codes of Barbour through Maison Kitsuné’s modern and playful lens. Since beginning its clothing line in 2005, Maison Kitsuné has offered a refreshing take on contemporary fashion, one where both refinement and playfulness work together harmoniously. It's this approach that's brought to the forefront of the collection, with Barbour's rich and illustrious heritage paired with the exuberance of the French-Japanese brand.

The heritage and classicism of Barbour is looked at from Maison Kitsuné’s perspective, with icons taken from the archive and reworked with an emphasis on playfulness. “Our two brands deeply care for excellence, craftsmanship and innovation. Barbour has an incredible heritage in outerwear, and it was a fascinating experience to work on a collection together. Sharing our creative visions, developing a new narrative, and rethinking iconic silhouettes was fun, spontaneous, and exciting”, said Maison Kitsuné on the collaboration.

Maison Kitsuné’s iconic fox mascot appears embroidered across quilted and waxed cotton jackets, epitomising the balance of playful and heritage at the core of the collection. Elsewhere, reversible jackets and totes provide both a subtle and bold aesthetic, while tees and crews are printed with Maison Kitsuné’s fox dressed in classic Barbour styling. Colour blocking makes an appearance, too, with icons like Barbour's Beaufort jacket reworked in blue and green and detailed with the brand's classic tartan patterning.
