Watch our latest END. Talks with Shaun Crawford, Gary Janes and Mick Dixon, hosted by TJ Sawyerr.
Celebrating the release of END. and Barbour’s short film chronicling New York City-based multimedia artist Shaun Crawford’s 1-of-1 collaborative Solway Jacket, we hosted an all-new edition of END. Talks at our flagship store in on Broadwick Street in Soho.
Renowned for his unique post-graffiti approach to painting, sculpture and design, Harlem-born Shawn Crawford visited Barbour HQ in South Shields to spend time designing his own bespoke rendition of the iconic Solway jacket – a style originally designed for traditional British outdoor pursuits. Infused with a sense of punk spirit and streetwear essentialism, Shaun’s twist on the classic waxed cotton jacket brought to life a unique vision and a true merging of points of view.
Kicking off the evening with a premiere of the film in full, a panel talk hosted by TJ Sawyerr saw Shaun sit down with Barbour’s Senior Design & Development Manager Gary Janes and menswear designer Mick Dixon to discuss the project. From creative backgrounds to the design process, the discussion offered an insight into how the jacket came into being, what the experience of working together was like, and what inspired the approach that was taken.
