SNOOP DOGG – “BODR”
Following his acquisition of Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg marks the return of the coveted label with his 20th studio album: BODR. The 18-track project has that old-school sound synonymous with the rap mogul’s — and record label’s — catalogue of work, with classic beats combined with Snoop Dogg’s smooth lyrical flow.
PUSHA T – “DIET COKE”
With Pusha T’s latest single, “Diet Coke”, the rap legend brings Ye and 88-Keys on board for production. The track, which is the lead on Pusha T’s upcoming album “It’s Not Dry Yet”, sees the rapper’s gritty lyrics delivered against an old-school, piano-led beat.
CURREN$Y & THE ALCHEMIST – "THE TONIGHT SHOW"
With Curren$y’s latest release, titled “The Tonight Show”, the New Orleans rapper reunites with longstanding collaborator and legendary producer The Alchemist. The tone of the track is laidback, combining a relaxing, soulful instrumental with Spitta Andretti’s nonchalant lyrics.
FORT ROMEAU – “BEINGS OF LIGHT”
With “Beings of Light”, Fort Romeau’s third full-length project, the British producer weaves together different stylistic elements to create a complex and reflective album. Across the eight tracks, the project moves between energetic, dancefloor-focused sounds to a more toned-down ambience, representing the artist’s diverse and ever-increasing approach to production.
BURIAL & FOUR TET – “NOVA”
Burial and Four Tet delve into their catalogues for a digital release of “Nova”: a track that originally released on vinyl in 2012. The single, which is released on streaming platforms alongside 2009’s “Moth”, represents a fusion of each artist’s unique approach to productions, piecing together intricate drum patterns, hazy samples and soothing melodies.
