With the latest AJ4, dubbed the “Red Thunder”, Air Jordan dips into the archives to transform the “Thunder” colourway that debuted in 2006.
Air Jordan’s archives are filled with a near-endless list of sneaker grails — iconic models and colourways that have continuously captured the zeitgeist for decades now. Those legendary releases often form the inspiration behind Air Jordan’s releases, with the latest AJ4 being no exception.
The shoe, which is releasing in a full family size run, is named the “Red Thunder”, with inspiration taken from 2006’s sought-after “Thunder” colourway. The sneaker takes on a familiar colour palette as the aforementioned sneaker, only the hits of yellow are switched out for vibrant shades of MJ-typical red.
The AJ4’s iconic, court-focused details remain as they always do, with that famous Jumpman logo worked into the tongues and an exposed, Air-cushioned sole unit underfoot.
