In 1947, American industrial designer George Nelson was commissioned to create a collection of contemporary clocks - and Vitra has the lot! The Asterisk Wall Clock was inspired by the symbol, of course. Why the numberless face? Because the designer believed clocks were mainly used to decorate rather than tell the time, and this one looks so great we agree.
