Since Alessandro Michele took over as Creative Director of Gucci in 2015, the fashion house has seen a revival of its love of nature through motifs — contemporary totems that complement Gucci’s codes and nod to the house’s vast archives. Think collections filled with bold patterns, colours and animal-inspired graphics.

This season, Gucci channels that love of nature and animals, creating an exclusive capusle that pays tribute to the Year of the Tiger. The collection covers everything from footwear and apparel to leather goods and watches, with each piece transformed to reflect Michele’s penchant for bold elegance.

As is typical of the designer, Michele looks to Gucci’s legendary archives for inspiration, reworking the fashion house’s “Flora” pattern — first created by artist Vittorio Accornero in the 1960s — to include tiger motifs and cursive lettering. Elsewhere, the approach is just as bold, with everything from bags to hoodies covered with large, block letter font reading “GUCCI TIGER”.
