Mastercraft Union is one of those finds—built on the Japanese principle of Takumi, the lifelong devotion to craft. Founded by Hiroyuki Yoshikawa, the brand started with stretch selvedge denim informed by two decades of his expertise and collaboration with Kojima, Japan’s denim district, and its elite sewing and wash houses.

Kojima remains the apex of Japanese denim culture, a legacy shaped by generations of makers and designers who helped broadcast its mills to the world—including American denim visionary Donwan Harrell. In 2025, Harrell ushered in a new era for Mastercraft Union clothing, blending Takumi’s meticulous philosophy with Kojima’s globally respected production. The result: Mastercraft Union jeans rooted in vintage Americana, military references, rugged workwear, washed‑down selvedge, distressed outerwear, natural fibres, and Mastercraft Union denim with an authentically worn‑in feel.
