After being the exclusive supplier of on-field caps for Major League Baseball since 1993, it’s no surprise that New Era headwear is a fan favourite. The pioneering label has built up an impressive roster of clients since first starting out in 1950, quickly gaining a fan base and opening a manufacturing facility in New York.
After a meeting with MLB in 1993, New Era’s path of exclusivity began. And after spending decades as the official on-field cap provider for MLB, New Era set its sights on expanding its dominance across the nation's top sports leagues. In 2012, it secured the title of official sideline cap for the NFL, and by 2016, it became the official on-court cap supplier for the NBA. This achievement made New Era the first brand in sports history to hold exclusive headwear rights for on-field, sideline, and on-court use in all three major U.S. sports leagues.
New Era’s most well-known style, the 9FIFTY Cap hit a home run, becoming a symbol of the world's best baseball uniforms, allowing fans and sports enthusiasts alike to showcase their favourite teams. With other reputable styles like the 9Twenty and 59Fifty making their way onto the scene, it's clear to see why New Era caps are as official, authentic, and as quality-crafted as they come.
Dao-Yi Chow, the acclaimed fashion designer and co-founder of Public School, was appointed Vice President and Creative Director of New Era Cap in May 2024. Chow’s appointment was huge: it marked a strategic pivot for New Era to leverage its 100-year history into a modern streetwear and fashion-led brand identity.
