END. X POLO RALPH LAUREN 'BAROQUE'

3 October 2022

END. and Polo Ralph Lauren join forces for the first time with “Baroque”: a 13-piece collection inspired by original Ralph Lauren homeware collections.

Influenced by the ornate and extravagant floral details prevalent throughout Ralph Lauren’s luxurious homeware, the “Baroque” collection from Polo Ralph Lauren and END. adopts this style of patterning and casts it through a street-focused lens. What results is a combination of classic and contemporary — an amalgamation of sartorial refinement and elevated streetwear codes.

Originating in the early 17th century, the Baroque style offered an opposition to the aesthetically restrained style of architecture, music, art and design at the time, revelling in a decadence that celebrated the talents and skills of the creators behind beautiful decorative works. Channeling this sensibility and penchant for grandness, the garments used in the “Baroque” collection reflect the refined sensibility inherent in the iconic label, taking preppy, sportswear-inspired staples — like the rugby shirt, polo and coach jacket — and covering them in the collection’s bespoke floral pattern.

Echoing Polo Ralph Lauren’s penchant for detail, tees, hoodies and sweatpants all feature Polo branding, which is reworked and inlaid with the collection’s baroque pattern. The same approach is taken to the capsule’s accessories, with a reversible bucket hat — featuring an all-over pattern on one side, a more understated white on the other — and a black cap detailed with Polo branding.
