NIKE AIR MAX 1 ’86 “OBSIDIAN” - REGISTER NOW

Nike pays homage to the archives with the latest Air Max 1 “Obsidian”.

To commemorate Air Max Day earlier this year, Nike issued the Air Max 1 in its “Big Bubble” form: a nod to the prototypical versions of the sneaker that Tinker Hatfield developed prior to the line’s inauguration in 1987.

Continuing with the theme of the “Big Bubble”, Nike dips into the archives once again for inspiration, this time reissuing the OG “Obsidian” colourway which first debuted in 1988. Just like the original sneaker, a dark blue, red and grey colour palette is used, giving that classic look we all know and love. Underfoot is of equal note to the colourway, with the Air Max bubble enlarged to offer a more exaggerated look.
