CLARKS ORIGINALS X RONNIE FIEG
27 April 2022Clarks Originals partners with Ronnie Fieg to create a new footwear category, the 8th St: a collection that tributes Fieg’s career and Clarks Originals’ premium approach to craft.
Ronnie Fieg is a designer with vast experience in the sneaker sphere, having spent decades capturing the zeitgeist both working for other labels and under his iconic Kith imprint. This season, Fieg partners with heritage British shoemaker Clarks Originals, utilising his vast wealth of experience and knowledge to help with the creation of a new footwear category: 8th St. The collection serves as a tribute to Fieg’s career in the footwear business, which began on the David Z shoe store on Manhatton’s legendary 8th street. Two new silhouettes are created by Fieg for the collection — the Lockhill and the Sandford — with this vision combined with Clarks Originals’ premium and time-honoured approach to craft.
One of the shoes is named the Lockhill — which takes its name from one of Clarks’ first factories — combines the appearance of a heritage athletic sneaker with premium materials, with top-grade suede uppers that are panelled, perforated and joined to a classic crepe rubber sole. The Sandford, meanwhile, refers to the first Clarks warehouse in London, and follows the same refined-meets-relaxed approach of the Lockhill.
