2018 welcomes another icon by Virgil Abloh; “The Ten: Vapormax” returns with a black midfoot Swoosh refining the original hyped release. Gravity-defying at the icy blue outsole, up-top sees the Off-White designer strip back and deconstruct Nike’s extensive archive; sewing the Swoosh onto the Flyknit uppers to offset the “AIR” to the lateral side and “SHOELACES” to the lacing. Packed with the cult designer’s key codes, notably, the ironic quotation marks around everything, a strong emphasis on branding, and a heavy dose of post-modernism make this another remarkable release.
