A fresh take on a future icon, the new split tongue model packs some serious heat. Drawing on the flavour of the native Japanese herb wasabi, the GEL-LYTE III 'Wasabi' is designed to whet the appetite of sushi enthusiasts around the world.
Typically found growing alongside stream beds in the mountain river valleys of Japan, authentic forms of this Far Eastern delicacy are typically served as an accompaniment to traditional Japanese sushi dishes such as sashimi.
The GEL-LYTE III’s ‘Wasabi’ pigskin nubuck uppers mimic the seafoam green colour of wasabi, paired with ASICS' stripes in an atmospheric gunmetal grey to depict the rocky regions in which the herb originates. Tropical peach tone accents sit in complement to the green to reflect the classic combination of sashimi, wasabi and pink pickled ginger.
Pushing the boundaries with its sole, GEL cushioning, and signature split tongue, the END. x ASICS GEL-LYTE III 'Wasabi' is finished with an END. Japanese character patch on the tongue, dual-branded leather footbed, and heel patch.
