Puma’s TE-KU get their name from an abbreviation of the sport for which they were originally intended, ‘Tennis and Kunstrasen’ (in German), translating to ‘tennis and artificial grass or AstroTurf’. Launched in the 70s they originally became available on the open market and were shown in the PUMA catalogues of their time. Manufactured out of West Germany and Yugoslavian factories, these sneakers were at the pinnacle of sporting prowess at the time. This season, the TE-KU returns – boasting fresh suede uppers and gold toned logo branding throughout. This blue iteration sits atop a textured rubber outsole for a welcome dose of retro appeal.
