Garbstore

With an impressive résumé featuring time at Paul Smith, Burberry, and Levi’s, Ian Paley teamed up with co-founder Emily Dyson to launch Couverture & The Garbstore in 2008 -  a concept store in London’s Notting Hill that quickly became a cult destination.

Celebrated for spotlighting emerging brands, the store blends Japanese, British, and French design influences with a strong appreciation for utilitarian military wear and vintage workwear. Naturally, the retail space became home to its eponymous label The Garbstore - born from this unique vision and inspired by what Paley describes as “unfamiliar vintage.”

Steering clear of fleeting trends, The Garbstore champions traditional manufacturing techniques and often employs older machinery. This commitment to craftsmanship is evident in every piece - especially in Garbstore t-shirts - where meticulous attention is paid to every stitch and seam.

Garbstore menswear takes cues from the team’s travels, blending everything from Japanese craftsmanship and French handmade touches to classic British textiles and a dash of New Wave Americana. It’s a global mix, tied together by a love for quality and thoughtful design.
