Post-soviet style with a sartorial twist.
Continuing his post-soviet exploration of skate and soccer subcultures, Russia's godfather of streetwear Gosha Rubchinskiy returns to END. with the latest drop for his AW17 collection.
Included in the collection are pieces from the ongoing collaboration between adidas and Rubchinskiy, which blends details from the pitch and the terrace and repurposes them for the man on the street.
A potent combination from two of the world's most defining voices in streetwear, the collaboration is partly in celebration of Russia's successful bid for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and applies a fashion-forward treatment to retro fabrics and classic athletic silhouettes.
Most notably from the adidas element of the latest drop is the inclusion of 3 colourways of the collaborative Ace 16+ Super sneaker. The street-ready evolution of the style features a full primeknit construction, elevated ankle collar, and graphic three-stripes branding to the lateral side wall.
With a point of view so deeply rooted in the Russian zeitgeist, Rubchinskiy lifts the veil of propagandised western media coverage to deliver a true reflection of contemporary youth culture in Russia's cities.
Come and see Russia. Not only on the Internet, or in the paper. See what’s really happening in the cities.- Gosha Rubchinskiy -
