Watch Saint Laurent's SELF03, Directed By Bret Easton Ellis

A darkly romantic short film starring Hopper Penn, a love triangle falls apart amidst luxurious surroundings in 'The Arrangement'

Famed for his uncompromising satire of capitalist society in the 1991 novel 'American Psycho', acclaimed writer Bret Easton Ellis directs 'The Arrangement' for Saint Laurent's 'SELF' series.

A multi-media project spearheaded by the Parisian label's creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, the short film follows on from photographer Daido Muramayama and performance artist Vanessa Beecroft's previous contributions. Capturing the essence of their signature rockstar aesthetic and sleek elegance, the brand stated that the project is "an artistic commentary on society while emphasising the core values of Saint Laurent."

Presenting an impression of a love triangle gone bad, Ellis offers a hazy, dream-like interpretation of a relationship in its final moments. Set against the backdrop of a decadent Los Angeles condo, the trio of lovers lounge, swim and quarrel, bivouacking between the possibility of reconciliation and disaster.

Starring Hopper Penn, Tes Linnenkoper and Dakota Lindvall, Saint Laurent continue to showcase their artistic vision and honed stylistic sense. Dressed in Vaccarello's signature western shirts, skinny jeans and leather jackets, emotions rise and fall, complemented with a soundtrack of Petula Clark's cover of Michel Legrand's 'The Windmills of Your Mind'.
