Vans Vault partners with experimental creative collective Brain Dead this season, with the two coming together to rework the iconic checkerboard pattern. The two sneakers that get the nod are the Classic Slip-On LX and the OG Authentic LX, with playful details that capture the experimental aesthetic of Brain Dead.
Checkerboard Uppers
The uppers feature the collection’s bespoke, reworked checkerboard pattern: a repetition of Brain Dead’s famous head graphic. The approach continues at the midsoles, with large, futuristic-looking branding detailed on each sneaker.
Branded Midsole
Both style’s signature codes remain, with canvas uppers, high foxing tape and waffle rubber outsoles.
