Inspired by Olympian, Steve Prefontaine, the sneaker takes leave of the usual Nike aesthetic featuring a grunge skull and crossbones stamp on the tongue.

Playing on the name of Prefontaine's college athletics team - The Pirates - Nike immortalise the marathon athlete's formative sporting years in an unexpected way with this latest release.

Supple cuts of leather and suede complete the uppers, with a contrasting off-white midsole underfoot. The sneaker is finished with a black Air Unit and a sticky black outsole for unbeatable traction.
