Take A Closer Look at the Nike Air Max² Light In This Workshop Editorial

END. links up with Nike to commission a series of neon artworks inspired by the resurgence of the Nike Air Max ² Light - available now on END. Launches

Released in 1994, the Air Max² was Nike’s latest running innovation. Now coming in at a full ounce lighter than Nike’s previous running models to earn the ‘Light’ post-nominal addition, the model features Nike’s pinnacle Air Max technology, utilising a four-chambered Air Max unit and two different pressure systems for a hyper-responsive in-flight experience.

To mark the re-launch of this OG 90s Air Max icon, END. has teamed up with Nike to celebrate the legacy of Air Max tooling and the lightness of the Air Max² through the nostalgic medium of neon lighting.

Invented in 1917, the unmissable neon glow is the result of pumping pressured gas through a sealed tube with an electrode placed at each end. A craft of its own, neon light bending is an art form that requires skill and patience. Paying homage to the resurgence of this 90s icon, END. and Nike commissioned neon iterations of the 2 OG colourways reissued this month: the 'University Gold' and the 'Blue Lagoon'.

Placing a spotlight on the retro runner in this work-in-progress editorial, the next chapter of the Air Max² saga is written.

The Nike Air Max² Light 'Blue Lagoon' is now available for registration on END. Launches.
