New Balance and Joe Freshgoods reunite this season to step into uncharted territory, introducing an all-new silhouette: the 9060. Though the sneaker is brand new, it’s inspiration lies in the much-loved 990, with design codes taken from the sneaker and exaggerated heavily.
Mixed-Material Uppers
The uppers team mesh and suede in warm shades of pink, with panelling that’s fairly reminiscent of the muse sneaker’s. The sole is a vast departure, however, which is chunky, undulating and designed to nod to tech-led visuals of the Y2K era.
Experimental Sole Unit
As to be expected with Joe Freshgood’s partnerships with New Balance, rich storytelling plays an integral part of the collaboration, with features inspired by the notion of reimagined familiarity.
