Reviving a vintage-inspired runner in a contemporary all-black colourway, adidas offers this EQT Gazelle. Modelled after a 1999 running silhouette, lightweight mesh is overlaid with visually-striking leather panels – bordered by white piping and mimicking the Three-Stripes – to add necessary support and durability; while a strip of leather cups the heel and extends up, offering itself as a subtle heel tab. Underfoot, the initial performance inspiration becomes evidently clear. A split midsole ensures the forefoot and heel can operate and grip independently of one another, with a supportive plastic plate bridging the gap between the sneaker’s performance heritage and modern-day lifestyle appeal.
