This week, our selections come from all sides of the spectrum. In womenswear, drops from Damson Madder, Gimaguas, Maison Margiela, and Rick Owens cater to tastes across luxury and everyday wardrobe foundations while menswear from Folk, MKI, WTAPS, and Y-3 leans into easygoing versatility.
Every so often, a label comes along and just captures the exact taste of the moment. Damson Madder’s fun, feminine, and yet incredibly versatile take on womenswear has taken off, and for good reason. Pieces like the Jemima Mini Dress embody the energy: cherry graphics, ruching, and puffy arms are fresh and fun without ever feeling too much.
Understatement isn’t the vibe this season. Pieces like Gimaguas’ Camu Cardigan are all about having fun with your wardrobe. This head-turning pink number is inspired by a bright pink pashmina that founder twin sisters Claudia and Sayana used to share.
Whatever the season, whatever the weather, a good denim jacket is essential. Margiela’s ability to reshape garments that we often take for granted is unmatched, and this shredded piece puts it on full show. Chaotic raw hems stand in contrast with graceful bow fastenings, which nod to the lab coats worn by the artisans at work in the brand’s Paris atelier.
Slouchy but refined is a hard balance to pull off. Rick Owens cracked the code a few decades back, though. This cropped hoodie is a dream for transitional weather since it’s so easy to layer. A soft neutral palette and lightweight build will have you wearing it every day with anything in your wardrobe.
Praise the garment gods for workwear. The well of perfect jackets inspired by the ones worn by blue-collar workers will never running dry. Folk’s Mechanic Jacket is cut from a hard-wearing striped cotton and features a nice boxy fit to modernise the silhouette.
Cropped to perfection, MKI is getting in on the workwear goodness this season, too. The key to this piece is the beautiful sunfaded finish that makes it look like it’s been worn for years already. We know you won’t be going anywhere near a toolbox while wearing this, but at least you look the part.
WTAPS is proof that solid basics are all a wardrobe actually needs to thrive. The Kingpin Shirt looks to vintage bowling styles with a massive, airy silhouette and embroidered detailing to the back. This one’s a dream for layering.
Yohji Yamamoto basically invented the sportswear/fashion crossover when Y-3 was born in 2002. Long before anyone else thought the two categories could coexist, the visionary was proving it across footwear and apparel. The latest drop sees adidas signatures reworked with soft gradient detailing to give them extra pop.
