ADIDAS ORIGINALS NEWCASTLE — PRESENTED BY SPEZIAL IN PARTNERSHIP WITH END.

adidas and END. joined forces for a celebratory exhibition at Newcastle Contemporary Art, honouring the cultural significance of adidas Originals.

At Newcastle Contemporary Art on a rainy October night, END. and adidas came together to host a celebratory evening presented by Gary Aspden’s SPEZIAL, dedicated to the cultural significance of all things Originals. The evening saw the awe-inspiring space of Newcastle Contemporary Art transformed into a commemorative exhibition, with rarities and gems from adidas’ vast archives displayed for all to see.

Upon entering the exhibition, attendees were welcomed with bespoke beers for the event: limited edition, adidas-branded cans between END., adidas and Wylam Brewery. Following this, visitors were invited to embark on a journey through adidas past and present, with an array of rare and coveted three stripe icons on display, ranging from original pairs from the sought-after City Series to coveted collaborative releases. Alongside this were pairs selected from Gary Aspden’s personal collection, each signed by their respective collaborator including The Stone Roses, Kate Moss and Snoop Dogg, to name just a few.

Moreover, there was a display dedicated to the longstanding and harmonious partnership between END. and adidas, including archival collaborative trainers as well as END. and adidas’ upcoming, much-anticipated “Past” Samba. Following this, attendees were then invited to the first floor of Newcastle Contemporary Art, where more archival sneakers, refreshments and music were enjoyed.

The adidas Originals presented by SPEZIAL exhibition will be open to the public Friday 27th October - Sunday 5th November 2023, Newcastle Contemporary Art, 39 High Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 1EW.

The END. x adidas “Past” Samba is also available to pre-order at END. Newcastle, 104-108 Grey Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 6JG on Friday 27th October.
