Howlin'

Few knitwear brands have a soundtrack. Howlin' does. Founded by Antwerp brothers Jan and Patrick Olyslager, the label grew from a family business rooted in Scottish knitwear, but quickly developed a character all its own. Named after a Scottish slang term meaning "smelly", Howlin' approaches traditional craft with a healthy disregard for convention.

The brand still works with specialist manufacturers in Scotland and Ireland, using locally sourced yarns and time-honoured knitting techniques. That's where the tradition ends. Vibrant colours, unexpected patterns and references pulled from the brothers' deep love of underground electronic music have become signatures in their own right, giving each collection a personality that's impossible to mistake.

Part knitwear specialist, part cultural passion project, Howlin' continues to prove that heritage doesn't have to be serious to be taken seriously.
