Bagpipes carry across the heather, tartan flashes through the crowd and the weather changes its mind for the third time. The Braemar Gathering in the Scottish Highlands has always been a celebration of tradition, but tradition needn’t be predictable. That spirit runs through the latest Barbour x Paul Smith collaboration. Here, the iconic Beaufort swaps waxed cotton for corduroy, while a magenta throat tab and a colourful reworking of the Classic Tartan reward those paying attention. As for the unexpected pops of colour? We suspect Sir Paul may have had something to do with that.
