From the streets of Harajuku to celebrity closets, A Bathing Ape blurs the lines between classic streetwear and pop culture with a Japanese twist. The label was founded by DJ and designer, Tomoaki “Nigo” Nagaou in 1993. It’s been an influential force in the Urahara movement, a style collaboration of Americana staples and mid-90s skater style.
It also had an impact on early 2000's rap style, worn by megastar artists Lil Wayne, Pharrell Williams and Pusha T. Today, A Bathing Ape apparel still features bold graphics and slogan-heavy prints, featuring the iconic Ape Head motif.
