A design from a time when all around seemed to be losing their heads, giving in to Bell Bottoms, Corduroy Boot Cuts and polyester blends masquerading as jeans, however Levi's were not one to give in to passing trends. For their most iconic style they stuck to the basics, focusing on a good cut and good Cone Mills denim. A straight cut leg with a generous twist and a lower rise than previous models, the 1978 501 bears the small 'e' tab and is closed with the classic button fly. Based on a pair from the Levi's archive, the 'Black Overdye' finish is washed and hand finished so as to look lightly broken in, with light creasing and distress at the points where there is most wear.
