Testing out PUMA's Deviate Nitro 3 running sneaker, END. and the German sportswear brand linked up with Collective Run Club for a steady 5km across the city.
On a pleasantly warm evening in Newcastle upon Tyne, PUMA and END. teamed up with local run club Collective Run Club to offer the city’s runners to put the PUMA Deviate NITRO 3 sneaker through its paces on a 5km run. Meeting at END.’s flagship store overlooking Grey’s Monument in the very heart of the city, attendees were gifted a pair of the brand-new running sneakers before heading out on a pace run across Newcastle and Gateshead led by Collective Run Club.
Weaving down through the bustling streets of Newcastle towards the Quayside, the group tackled Newcastle’s infamously steep Dog Leap Stairs before heading across the High Level Bridge south of the Tyne. Looping round and along the river before crossing the iconic Millenium Bridge, the route took in the sights of the city, from the Glasshouse and the Baltic to the Tyne Bridge. Heading up through the Ouseburn before doubling back down to the Lock Up for food and drinks, the 5km run offered the perfect balance of steady pace and incline to wear test PUMA’s latest running sneakers.
Greeted with a welcome bottle of ice-cold water on arrival at the Lock Up, a variety of cocktails were served up on the roof terrace, while SOKU busily prepared a feast of small plates to enjoy in the summer air. As the sun began to set and runners contentedly relaxed and refuelled, the city’s running community connected further with new members and first timers in a true celebration of Newcastle’s burgeoning running scene.
