Dries Van Noten Loafers

Establishing his eponymous label in 1986, Dries Van Noten was a member of the Antwerp Six collective, an avant-garde collective credited for putting Belgian designers on the map in the '80s. The third generation to tailor in his family, Van Noten is known for immaculate craftsmanship with a dynamic yet balanced approach to design.

After making his foray into luxury fashion, Van Noten quickly earned a reputation as a master colourist, with familiar designs that are elevated by subtly rendered graphic elements such as dark florals and geometric motifs. Maintaining an innately wearable aesthetic, the label continues its deft pairing of streetwear tropes and couture tailoring.

Julian Klausner is the current creative director of Dries Van Noten, appointed in December 2024 following the founder's departure. An alumni of Maison Margiela, Klausner brings a slightly more daring perspective to the House's signature intellectualism, combining dramatic and delicate elements with poise.

The label's wardrobe staples are expertly made, with oversized hoodies and cosy crew neck jumpers alongside well-placed drapes and folds that pay homage to its groundings in avant-garde couture. Dries Van Noten shirts are spun from premium cotton, delivering that balance the brand is known for — pieces that look refined but feel effortless to wear.

Balancing luxuriousness and a pragmatic concern with integrity, Dries Van Noten continues to redefine the elements of high-fashion menswear.
