DAMON ALBARN – “THE NEARER THE FOUNTAIN, MORE PURE THE STREAM FLOWS”
Damon Albarn’s second solo album, “The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows”, sees the British artist take a contemplative approach to music. The body of work is a complex, orchestral-like arrangement of organic instruments and electronic sounds, providing the backdrop for Albarn’s relaxing and introspective vocals.
AESOP ROCK X BLOCKHEAD – “GARBOLOGY”
Aesop Rock and Blockhead continue their longstanding partnership with “Garbology”, marking the duo’s debut collaborative album. The 14-track piece combines experimental beats with gritty, complicated vocals that explore the themes of loss and societal change.
LIL ZAY OSAMA – “TRENCH BABY 2”
Lil Zay Osama’s latest release, “Trench Baby 2”, sees the Chicago-based rapper continue his hard-hitting approach to hip hop. The album reflects heavily on the artist’s personal experiences, with vocals that pirouette between fast-paced rapping and R&B-like crooning.
BATU – “I OWN YOUR ENERGY”
The latest from Batu, “I Own Your Energy”, is a continuation of the Bristol-based producer’s experimental sound. The EP is released under his own label, Timedance, and consists of hard-hitting, bass-heavy grooves designed for after-hours dancefloors.
BLAWAN – "WOKE UP RIGHT HANDED"
With Blawan’s latest release, “Woke Up Right Handed”, the British producer moves further away from the club and touring life and deep into the studio. The result is a technical EP that bends genres, utilising complicated polyrhythms and dark, experimental sound design.
