The OG Michigan coat is Carhartt WIP’s most faithful take on the old Carhartt chore coats — the same DNA you see in the 1917–1920s work jackets: heavy duck canvas, triple‑stitched seams, patch pockets, corduroy collar. One of the first pieces WIP introduced, it’s now a cultural marker of the brand’s early streetwear era — a piece that shaped how Carhartt translated its workwear heritage into modern design.
