Artek was founded in Helsinki in 1935 on the idea that art and technology belong together, and the Wall Shelf 112 is that idea on your wall. Alvar Aalto designed it around a birch veneer panel held up by lamella loops, and each loop takes two people to bend into shape. Fit them under the panel to support it, or on top and they become bookends. It looks good before the books go on.
