The Yankees’ interlocking NY started out as a medal. The franchise says it was inspired by one Tiffany & Co. made in 1877 for a New York police officer, and it’s now one of the most recognisable logos in sport. New Era, best known for its baseball caps, puts it on an all-black 9Forty with a woven, leather-look finish, a structured crown, a curved visor and a strapback that adjusts to fit.
