Salehe Bembury is a designer who tirelessly pushes the boundaries, forging into the unknown with an esoteric and experimental vision of what sneakers should, and can, be. His ongoing relationship with New Balance is reflective of this cutting-edge sensibility, with Bembury placing a strong emphasis on unconventional details and technology.
Mixed-Material Uppers
The two are back with a re-release of their 574 Yurt in white and pink, which perfectly embodies the bold aesthetic the two have come to favour.
Detachable Whistle
The sneaker represents a hyper-experimental take on the legendary 574; the suede and mesh uppers remain relatively similar to the original, save for the updated panelling, though the rest is far bolder. The sole is oversized and features ABZORB SBS and RollBar plate technology, while the heels come with a detachable, fully-functioning whistle.
