1962 saw Levi's introduce the first jean to use 14oz red selvedge denim from Cone Mills. This unheralded style became the precursor to the iconic 1967 505 jean. Pre-shrunk, the jean is typically 60's with a straight leg fit, slim mid-rise and subtle detailing such as concealed rivets and 'E' red tab.
