Nike, Sacai and KAWS further extend their experimental partnership with another Blazer Low, dubbed the “Purple Dusk”.
Nike, Sacai and KAWS follow up from their previous Blazer Low, dubbed “Neptune Blue”, with “Purple Dusk”. The approach, just like last time, is a celebration of the bold and experimental, with Chitose Abe’s hybrid aesthetic brought to the forefront again.
Just about everything is doubled to give the appearance of two sneakers fused into one, with the laces, tongues, Swooshes and eyestays given the treatment. The sole unit demands just as much attention — it’s heavily layered, to further the cut-and-paste look, and extends right the way up the heels.
KAWS’ artwork is renowned for its use of vibrant and contrasting colours, and the collaboration showcases that, with mismatched hues of purple, pink, blue and yellow used across the shoe. There are co-branded patches detailed at each tongue, too, as well as the Brooklyn-based artist’s ‘XX’ motif at the midsoles.
